Day 1:  Marrakech > Ouarzazate

Day 2:Ouarzazate > Erg Chigaga Dunes Sahara

Day 3: Sahara Desert > Taroudant

Day 4: Taroudant > Essaouira

Day 5: Essaouira > Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakesh – Ouarzazate

Main stops along the way:

  • Tichka Pass (2260m), the highest road pass in Morocco and Africa.
  • Kasbah Telouat and Ounila valley.
  • UNESCO  Site – Ait ben Haddou. This Kasbah is the most impressive and well-preserved fortress cities in Morocco.
  • Lunch break.
  • Ouarzazate – this is the Morocco seen in a hundred movies. You will serve dinner and spend the night here.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Erg Chigaga Dunes (Sahara)

Stops along the way:

  •  High Atlas Mountains through Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass
  •  Stop at the oldest kasbah in the valley, Kasbah Tamnougalte.  You will pass many villages and gardens so that you can gain a better idea of the way of life along the oases.
  • Lunch in Mhamid Elghizlane – the  gate to the Erg Chigaga dunes.
  • Erg Chigaga dunes camp – your day will end with a desert camel trek with a guide.  The camels will take you to the highest dune for the most magical sun set you will ever see. You will spend the night in a private tent in the Beber Camp. Dinner will be served here.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga Dunes (Sahara) – Taroudant

Stops along the way:

  • Early morning wake up to watch the most unforgettable sunrise.
  • Breakfast in the camp
  • Dried-up Iriqui Lake to search for fossils.
  • Taznakht, famous for its berber gelims and carpets, stop for lunch.
  •  Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes
  • Taliouine, the heart of the saffron growing region.
  • Taroudant, stop for the night in a riad.

Day 4: Taroudant – Essaouira

Stops along the way:

  • Visit “The little Marrakesh”- spectacular for its massive ramparts and beautiful medina.
  • Agadir passing the Souss river valley with all its argane groves.
  • Taghazout and through the mountains.
  • Essaouira to explore the town and the Unesco Heritage medina the sea and the port with its fresh fish restaurants.

Day 5: Essaouira – Marrakech

Stops along the way:

  • Free half a day to wander around Essaouira, getting to know it better, perhaps enjoying more of the fresh fish for lunch.
  • Argan trees forest and the co-operative of argane oil producers
  • Marrakech at 5:00 PM.

PRACTICAL INFO

  • Departure at : 8:00 AM.
  • Drop off at your hotel/riad the fifth day at 5:00 PM
  • You can take pictures of women in the cooperative, but in the villages or on the road you have to ask to photograph people, or shops .
  • We recommend sensible shoes or trainers.
  • Cash is the preferred method of payment across most of Morocco as very few traders have card facilities
  • We’d expect you to know this already, but when you’re buying something in Morocco, haggling is the name of the game. And it is a game, don’t get highly offended if someone offers you something at ten times its value, make a counter bid!
  • Coin purse are good to take, as you will need small amounts of money for photos ,snacks, tips, and toilets ” 2 Dirhams”
  • There are numerous pharmacies in Morocco, though it is advised that you get a prescription from your doctor before you leave if you need regular medication. If you feel ill but don’t think it’s serious enough for a hospital, visit a pharmacist will usually be able to help you, and recommend a doctor if you need one.
  • Morocco is predominantly a Muslim country (though a more socially liberated one than many others), so please be aware that some behaviour that is acceptable at home is not permitted here. Dress is usually more restrained.
  • We require a 20% deposit before hand to confirm your booking for the tour, via Paypal or Bank Transfer
  • Money back if cancelation 30 days before the Tour.

In regards to accommodations when you contact us we will send you an email with the list of accommodations you will be staying in. They will all be approved Pension type hotels which have been rated as having a good and comfortable stay. During the one night stay in the desert we will offer a glamping style tent with good conditions which allow you to get the true experience of the Sahara. How ever there is the option of staying in luxurious hotels for an extra fee, if preferable.
