Day 1:  Fes >Merzouga

Day 2: Day in Sahara Desert- Erg Chebbi Dunes 

Day 3: Sahara Desert > Dades Valley

Day 4: Dades Valley > Ouarzazate

Day 5: Ouarzazate > Marrakech

Day 6: Marrakech > Essaouira > Marrakech

Day 1: Fez to Merzouga

Your tour starts from your hotel or riad in Fez at 8:00 am.

Main stops along the way:

  •  Ifrane – built in the 1930s to resemble a Swiss village, today a popular ski resort area “ Michlifen”.
  •  Azrou where we will encounter in the cedar forests many colonies of Barbary apes that will keep you amused.
  • Midelt for lunch depends on if we are ok with the time.
  • Merzouga the gate to the dunes of Erg Chebbi- night in a casbah .

Day 2: Explore Merzouga and Erg Chebbi Dunes

  • Visit Khamlia village near the saharan dunes to listen and watch the descendants of African slaves playing the traditional “Gnawa music”.
  • Visit desert nomads living in tents. Local encounters in the desert.
  • Sunset camel trek to the dunes. You will spend the night under the beautiful desert stars in a nomadic tent, enjoying the nomadic food and music.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Toudra Gorges – Dades Valley :

Stops along the way:

  • Early morning unforgettable sunrise and camel trek  to the car in Merzouga. You will meet with your guide and continue your road journey.
  • Todra Gorge the highest gorge in Morocco “its walls are 300 meters high”.
  • Dades Gorge – a beautiful gorge carved  by the Dades River over centuries. You will rest here in a guest house.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura palmary – Ouarzazate

The journey on this day will give you the chance to experience nomad life.

Mains stops along the way:

  • Nomads’ cave to see the nomads who still use the caves as their homes and learn more about their ways of living.
  • Valley of the Roses (Kelaa M’Gouna) is the centre of Moroccan roses and rose products. Acres of Persian roses are grown and harvested here to create rose water, creams and soaps.
  • Ouarzazate –  this is the Morocco seen in a hundred movies and the gate to Sahara.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Bin Haddou – Marrakech

Main stops along the way:

  • UNESCO  Site – Ait ben Haddou. This Kasbah is the most impressive and well-preserved fortress cities in Morocco.  The Gladiator or Game of Thrones were filmed here.
  • Ounila valley to reach Telouet Kasbah, a big fort of the Pacha who was the most powerful man of the south.
  • Cross over the spectacular High Atlas Mountains Pass ( Tizi-n-Tichka 2260 m altitude ).
  • Marrakech arrival in evening.

Day 6: Marrakech – Essaouira – Marrakech

Main stops along the way:

  • Essaouira,  UNESCO World Heritage Site, a combination of spectacular beaches, great sea and the almost constant tropical trade winds. The narrow winding streets are filled with the sound of Gnaoua singing, women in white haiks weave their way through the alleys of the old medina and palm trees cast their shadows across the walls of white-washed houses.
  • One of the first places culture seekers should go is the Mogador Cultural Centre, home to regular musical and dramatic performances.
  • The best place to find examples of the city’s heritage is in the Medina, a place that will transport you back in time.
  • You can adventure a little further out and you’ll find wonderful walks, horse treks and quad biking.
  •  Back to Marrakesh in the evening.

PRACTICAL INFO

    • Departure at : 8:00 AM.
    • Drop off at your hotel/riad the 6th day in the evening. Arrival time may vary depending on traffic.
    • You can take pictures of women in the cooperative, but in the villages or on the road you have to ask to photograph people, or shops .
    • We recommend sensible shoes or trainers.
    • Cash is the preferred method of payment across most of Morocco as very few traders have card facilities
    • We’d expect you to know this already, but when you’re buying something in Morocco, haggling is the name of the game. And it is a game, don’t get highly offended if someone offers you something at ten times its value, make a counter bid!
    • Coin purse are good to take, as you will need small amounts of money for photos ,snacks, tips, and toilets ” 2 Dirhams”
    • There are numerous pharmacies in Morocco, though it is advised that you get a prescription from your doctor before you leave if you need regular medication. If you feel ill but don’t think it’s serious enough for a hospital, visit a pharmacist will usually be able to help you, and recommend a doctor if you need one.
    • Morocco is predominantly a Muslim country (though a more socially liberated one than many others), so please be aware that some behaviour that is acceptable at home is not permitted here. Dress is usually more restrained.
    • We require a 20% deposit before hand to confirm your booking for the tour, via Paypal or Bank Transfer
    • Money back if cancelation 30 days before the Tour.

    In regards to accommodations when you contact us we will send you an email with the list of accommodations you will be staying in. They will all be approved Pension type hotels which have been rated as having a good and comfortable stay. During the one night stay in the desert we will offer a glamping style tent with good conditions which allow you to get the true experience of the Sahara. How ever there is the option of staying in luxurious hotels for an extra fee, if preferable.
